I hate doing it, but making the call is the way to go. We've gotten rid of medical bills that the insurance "refused," and debts that came back after payment, as well as other things. One call I regret not making is to my IRA broker -- on what is probably a small trade, I felt like I was charged a fortune. I have no idea if we could have gotten it down, but we rolled the money over into a Vanguard IRA. I probably should have made the call. Oh well. I love it!
